Substantially complete

Our latest project in North Vancouver is approaching completion. Great clients, a contractor who 'gets it' and a fabulous house that really only needed a few gentle prods in the right direction. Just in time for Christmas.

for a new job and a sexy one... even if I do say so myself!

Aurora

Top all-round Northern Bloke and Mancunian most likely to have us all disappearing down a worm hole to an alternate universe, Brian Cox discussing the Northern Lights. Puts me in mind of an Ian Brown song......

and talking of the Aurora, every Northerner likes a good Anorak. This one is from Burton. Quality.

The metalwork has arrived onsite at our North Vancouver project. Matt black and slightly rubbery powder coated finish...we're pretty pleased with it.

UNKLE x McQueen

Got my grubby mitts on this last night. Handed out for free at the Press Day of McQueens sub collection Mc Q. Its bloody great. Dark, almost gothic in places. Perfect company for Mr McQueens work. Hope he's still listening in the other place.

Migration of Mel and Judith - Europe & Luxor

Beautifully crafted Architecture as narrative. More fantastic, fantastical work from Tom Hillier. Love this. World in a Lampshade.

'Becoming bored with Europe, Mel & Judith eventually decide to settle down to a new life inLuxor, Egypt. They now live on a small, uninhabited island situated on the River Nile, where in their weird and wonderful ‘Do-It-Yourself’English manor Mel brews beer in his bathtub-brewery whilst Judith bakes rose-bread in the bread-garden. Their island comes alive during the holiday season creating an English retreat in the middle of Luxor, a retreat that lures in English tourists with the opportunity to besurrounded by the sights, sounds and smells of home. The smell ofroses and freshly baked bread drift through the air whilst the temptation to drink beer (whichis illegal inLuxor) is impossible to resist. So if you are ever in Luxor and miss the familiarity of home, take a rowing boat over to Mel and Judith’s island for a little piece of England.'

weekend preoccupations

Current preoccupations: Peter Cook (the cookie monster) and Colin Fournier's Kunsthaus, Graz, a looming, menacing presence with a lo-tek programable skin. The Japan only release from the brilliant FYI design (straight out of Pemberton, BC) of the next level AK 457 packable down insulator and the Casio G-Shock green collection 2300 solar charged watch from the good folk at Livestock. Have a wicked weekend everyone. Happy Halloween.

Godogan table

Godogan Table by Niels van Eijk & Miriam van der Lubbe for Droog. Stunning craftsmanship near impossible to find in the West. Furniture as illustration, this one for an Indonesian Fairy Tale. now i wonder if CNC technology could do that on a mass market IKEA scale....

nike climbers pack

Very excited (quite possibly in an unhealthy way) by these puppies. Been a big fan of both shoes since the late 90's, very happy Nike are on the money once more with these. Part of a 'climbers pack' release. Let's hope some of our favourite retailers in this fair city get them landing through the door....oh Santa there is too much good stuff.....
