Great talk by Jamie Oliver at TED. Hopefully his campaign will touch enough people's lives to make a significant change.

the kitchen table.
Like all good things, they come to those who wait and there is a story behind them.
I (Alison) wanted a drop leaf table, my granny used to have one, this is her, and you can just about make out her drop leaf table behind her, this picture was taken in the 60's, so she had that table for over 30 years.

Everytime I went to her house when I was young, we would get the table out, have dinner and then sit around playing cards or drawing.
I explained my granny's spare table to Julian and we looked for one to buy but nothing came up to scratch with that 1960's table, so lovingly Julian designed our table and our good friend Dean made it for us. I love our table and hope to have it for 30 years plus. What makes it even more special is that it's not perfect, but I know the hands that drew it and made it, I know the wood is FSC and most importantly when I heard the rattle of the table, I almost started crying because it sounded exactly like that table of my granny's and brought back so many lovely memories.
So here it is, our table, with so much thanks to Julian and Dean.

We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
I came across this spanish kindergarden by Magen Arquitectos today (via dezeen) the colours are great. We miss working on playgrounds and schools and firmly believe we have to make these places much more inspiring if we want to keep children interested in being kids for longer.
'we grow old because we stop playing' george bernard shaw.
Hopefully as CONSIDERED we will get to do much more of this work, you can check out some of our previous play and learn projects on flickr
One of my favourite companies in the UK is Snug & Outdoor they design exciting and imaginative play areas. This is a Primary School in Hackney, transforming a bleak sea of tarmac into a more playful environment.

solar garden lights
Great solar outdoor lighting by Corona, simply glows as soon as the sun starts to go down, and look attractive during the daytime. They would look great on my small balcony garden.

on the radar
There are a few things on my radar at the moment for the business, for clients and for my apartment. These are just a couple.
Vitra Joyn Table. This is the perfect table for us. We want that studio feeling of sitting around a big table and collaborating, all we need now is the studio space!
I don't usually like outdoor sofa's but I have recently come across these from B&B Italia, that feel as if it is trying to be outdoor furniture. Hoping a client likes them as much as I do to invest in them.
and my favourite (probably cause it is for me)
There is alot of Tom Dixon furniture that I like but I especially love it when he has a slightly softer touch like with this light.
